Day 1: Iquitos / Lodge
We will begin our adventure in the Peruvian jungle at the airport in the city of Iquitos, we will move into a modern and comfortable minivan with air conditioning (on a fully paved road) to the town of Nauta, the first settlement founded by Spaniards in Riviera Marañón River, the journey takes approximately 1.30 hours with a distance of 97 km.
In Nauta grapple with the boats of the Pacaya-Samiria Amazon Lodge to visit the confluence of the Marañón and Ucayali rivers, where we will have a unique view of the birth of the Amazon River from an observation tower over 30 meters high, then we will continue the journey until the lodge to accommodate and lunch.
In the afternoon, while we made a walk through the woods surrounding the lodge, will observe the flora and fauna of the place, depending on weather conditions we can appreciate the beauty of the sunset.
If environmental conditions permit, at night will make an excursion by boat to a creek in search of nocturnal animals and insects and hear the sounds coming from the jungle, then return to the lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 2: Lodge / Quebrada Nauta / Lodge
At dawn we will make a tour of the surrounding area in search of birds, then return to the lodge for breakfast.
Immediately after make our excursion on boat by the Quebrada Nauta and gaps surrounding, where we will observe the flora and fauna of the place, as primates, lazy, waterfowl, among others, we stop a moment to enjoy lunch under the cool shade of the huge trees that surround us, later in our exploration into the primary forest, the guide will identify medicinal plants and trees of great interest.
As evening falls back to the lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 3: Lodge / Pacaya Samiria National Reserve / camps
Continue with bird watching very early and then back to the lodge at breakfast time.
Immediately after exit towards the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve, where we'll do the record and enter the reservation.
In our visit will make an excursion in search of pink dolphins and gray by the Yanayacu River, also will be in touch with the vast variety of flora and fauna that the reserve offers. The first thing we will call our attention are the river with such fidelity that reflect the sky, clouds, vegetation from the banks and the big trees, the visitor will feel to be sailing across endless mirrors, that´s why Pacaya Samiria is also known as "the forest of mirrors."
At noon we will stop a moment to take our lunch cold.
Will visit Japan and Plantano gaps, both with a wide variety of palm trees and a beautiful landscape, but also make trips in canoeing, fishing, hiking in search of more animals or perhaps refresh prefiramos in some of the gaps.
In the course of the day we will arrive at the camp and we will accommodate, while at night after dinner, we will have excursion on the river in search of alligators white or black, nocturnal birds and insects and hear the sounds coming from the jungle , Moments after we will returnin to the camp to rest in our tents
Day 4: Camp / Pacaya Samiria National Reserve / Lodge
On the morning after breakfast, we will visit a lagoon near the camp, where we will hike another in primary forest to see more variety of birds, plants and invertebrates.
Hours after starting the tour will rest under the shade of a tree to enjoy the cold lunch and then visit in the afternoon a native community, and observe their daily activities, we will help with the community development by buying handicrafts typical in the area, made from seeds and a vegetable ivory called tagua.
In the afternoon, we will return to the lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 5: Lodge / Iquitos
After breakfast enjoy a day of craft fishing , just as the inhabitants of this place , we can catch piranhas or other small fish from the river, after this thrilling experience back to the lodge for lunch.
Exit to the airport from the city of Iquitos for flight back to Lima.
